Bonness, Janet L.

Janet L. Bonness, 72, Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, June 5, 2016. She was born on May 28, 1944 in Chicago to the late Sam and Grace (Mahoney) Auriemma. On September 12, 1964, she married Ralph Bonness, Sr. in Chicago. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1985. Janet worked at St. Vincent and St. Mary's Hospital in patient registration for over 30 years. She also worked part time at Kohl's Department Store for over 10 years. Janet was immensely proud of her family and it was her main focus for her entire life. She also enjoyed spending time with friends especially going out for dinner. Janet loved dogs of all kinds.

She is survived by her sons, Ralph Bonness, Jr.; Bob (Melissa) Bonness; Ron Bonness; grandchildren, Brianna Drevs and Josh Bonness; great granddaughter, Gracelyn Drevs; sister-in-law, Dolores Zarnek; brother-in-law, George Bonness, Jr.; and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, John (Kitty) Auriemma; step-father, John Bajko; father-in-law and mother-in-law, George, Sr. and Elizabeth Bonness; brother-in-law, Tom Zarnek.

Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., on Thursday, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Funeral service 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Allouez Catholic Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com.

I worked at St. Vincent Hospital many of the years that Janet worked there. She was a kind, caring person. The world has lost a wonderful lady. My condolences to the family.

I worked with Janet at Kohl's a while back. She was one of those workers you prayed for. Responsible, hard working, pleasant, and an all around great person. I will remember her fondly. I am sorry to her family for their loss She leaves a legacy of fond memories that will make me smile. Rip Janet. Gone too soon.
