Undine Griggs Obituary
Easley
Undine Bell Griggs, 88, of Easley, widow of David Lawrence Griggs, died Friday, May 10, 2013.
Born in Toccoa, GA, she was the daughter of the late Jasper Henry and Ruby Stockton Bell.
Mrs. Griggs was the owner and operator of Griggs Grocery. She was a very active member of Griggs Memorial Baptist Church including the Lydia Sunday School Class.
Undine was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be dearly missed.
She is survived by daughter, Arlinda Griggs Sexton and son-in-law, Roger, of Greenville; grandchildren, Chad Sexton (Marisol) of Easley and Robert Sexton; great grandchildren, Noah Sexton of Easley, Nicolas Sexton of Easley, Carriana Sexton of Easley, and Robert Lee Sexton of Myrtle Beach; brother, Grady Bell of Toccoa, GA; and nephew, Gregg Bell, Toccoa, GA.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, J.D. Bell.
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 12, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The funeral service will be held Monday, May 13, 2013 at 4:30 p.m. in the Northwest Chapel. Burial will follow in Graceland West Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Griggs Memorial Baptist Church, 300 Poinsett Highway, Greenville, SC 29609.
The family will be at the residence.

Arlinda, my fondest memories are of Griggs Grocery store. I can see your Dad behind the meat counter and you and your Mom sitting at the checkout counter. My sister and I would walk up the hill on Burgess Avenue in the hot summer barefooted to trade in coke bottles for penny candy. Griggs Store was the heart of the neighborhood. Thanks for the memories. You will be in my prayers.
