Walter H. Gilstrap

Easley

Walter H. Gilstrap, 75, husband of Louise C. Gilstrap, of 100 Carmen Way, died April 9, 2013.

Son of the late Ephraim M. and Mary Wood Gilstrap, he was a member of Greenville First Presbyterian Church and a US Army veteran. For forty years he was SE Regional Manager for Winn-Dixie.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Gwen Gilstrap of Piedmont; and a sister, Blanche Creswell of Greenville. He was predeceased by an infant daughter and two brothers, George and Charles Gilstrap.

A memorial service will be Friday, 12:00 p.m. in Harper Chapel of First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dr. Pamela Patrick Cole and the Rev. Stephen Taylor officiating.

The family will receive friends Friday following the service in the Parlor of the church.

Memorials may be made to the Pastoral Visitation Ministry of First Presbyterian Church, 200 W. Washington St., Greenville, SC 29601, or Magnolias of Easley, 123 Couch Lane, Easley, SC 29642

I am so sorry, I had no ideal till I read this tonight. No one told us. Our son Shannon got married Sat. and we been so tied up with the wedding the last few weeks. Fay did tell me she saw him and I told Mack we would vist him soon now that we knew where he was.

We have very fond memories of the trips and dinnera and times we spent with you and Walt.I am recovering from back surgery so want be able to attend the service but my thoughts and prayers will be with you.
