Brandon Brawdy Obituary

Brandon Brawdy

Piedmont

Brandon P. Brawdy, 16, of Piedmont, SC, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Denver, CO on Sunday, March 9, 1997, he was a son of Brett P. and Theresa "Teri" A. (Kennedy) Brawdy. A 10th grader, Brandon attended Wren High School in Piedmont, SC and Washington Baptist Church in Pelzer, SC. He was an aspiring Paratrooper, an avid outdoorsman, and an active member of the Outdoor Dream Foundation. Since being diagnosed with a rare childhood cancer in September 2011, Brandon, with the help of his friends at the Outdoor Dream Foundation, participated in numerous hunting and fishing expeditions with his friends and family. Brandon was an avid Pittsburg Steelers and South Carolina Gamecocks fan, having recently met both teams.

Surviving are his parents, Brett and Teri Brawdy, of the home; older brother Justin Brawdy, 23, who is serving in the U. S. Army in South Korea; and older sister, Heather Brawdy, 22, of the home. He is also survived by his grandfather, Robert Varese, of Jamesville, NY; grandmother, Joan Kennedy, of Honesdale, PA; nephew, Joshua Brayden Brawdy, of Marietta, SC; and niece, Dakota Ryleigh Capps, of Marietta, SC.

He was predeceased by his grandmother, Mary L. Varese; and grandfather, Carl Kennedy.

Relatives and friends may call Sunday, April 21, 2013 from 3-5 p.m. at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer, 52 Main Street, Pelzer, SC. A memorial service will follow at 5 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.

Because of the overwhelming support shown to Brandon, the family requests that flowers be omitted and that contributions be made in Brandon's name to the Outdoor Dream Foundation, P. O. Box 802, Anderson, SC 29622.
