Herman Weems Obituary

Herman Marshall Weems, age 53, passed into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at St. Francis Hospital.

He was a lifelong member of Reedy River Baptist Church in Travelers Rest, and a member of the Christian Wisdom Sunday School Class.

Mr. Weems served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Richard E. Byrd during the Vietnam War. He retired from Wingfoot Commercial Tire Co. (Goodyear) as a commercial tire technician due to disability.

He is survived by his mother, Rose Ann Hawkins Weems Pike; a brother, Sam Weems; a sister, Charlene Weems, and her fiance, Riley Ward; a son, Buford Weems; a daughter, Miranda Weems; and two grandsons, D.J. and A.J. Weems.


He was predeceased by his father, John "Red" Weems, and stepfather, Walter "Bud" Pike.

Funeral services will be held at 4 o'clock Friday afternoon at Reedy River Baptist Church, with Rev. Rodney Jeanes and Dr. Gerald Roe officiating, and burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. at the church, before the service.

The family will be at the home of Charlene Weems.
