H. Reynolds Obituary

H. Glenn Reynolds

Boston Massachusetts

H. Glenn Reynolds, 64, died suddenly on Friday May 27, 2011 at his home near Boston, Massachusetts.

Born in Greenwood, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Hammond Collins Reynolds and Minnie Phillips Reynolds. He was a 1964 graduate of Greenwood High School, attended Clemson University and received his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in electrical engineering from the University of South Carolina. He served four years in the U.S. Navy.

Glenn began his engineering career at NCR in West Columbia, SC and retired in 2008 after 25 years with GE Healthcare. He felt privileged to work for GE and to be involved, along with his many collegues, in the release of GE's very first MR imaging system and the extensive research and development that continued through the years that followed. He always felt their work made an important difference in the lives and health of many people.

He loved his family, tending his roses and many other flowers and plants, and building beautiful furniture. He will be missed more than words can express.

Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Sandra Lollis Reynolds, of the home; a sister, Helen Reynolds Fleeman (Jerry) of Honea Path, SC; a brother, Tony L. Reynolds, of Greenwood, SC; mother-in-law, Lilly Caviness, of Easley, SC; and a number of very special nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Ed Reynolds and his grandparents.

A funeral service will be conducted Saturday June 4, 2011 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley, SC. Committal will be in the Robinson Memorial Gardens - Chapel of Reflection Mausoleum. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 am until 10:45 am at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to one of Glenn's favorite charities, the world - renowned Joslin Diabetes Center, Development Office, One Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215 or to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621 where his mother received such excellent care in 2009.
