Michael Keith Phillips (Mike/Stimey), 49, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 26, 2012.
Mike was born March 16, 1963 in Greenville, SC, to Ollie Phillips Chambers and the late Robert Dean Phillips. He is the beloved husband of Mary Gibbs Phillips for 29 years. He was the Owner/Operator of The LawnKeeper Tree Services since 1990. Mike was a member of Reedy River Baptist Church. He loved fishing, spending time with his family and friends. A good day for him would start off with coffee, reading the paper, phone calls to friends in the morning, and getting the kids off to school with a kiss and "I love you Mary" going out the door.
Mike is survived by one daughter: Stephanie Denise Phillips; sons: Jonathan Bradley Phillips, Michael Taylor Phillips; grandson: Mayer Reid Phillips; sister: Georjena Phillips Rowland; brothers: Robert Douglas "Doug" Phillips, James "Jimmy" Dean Phillips, William "Billy" Edward Phillips; step-brothers: Raymond B. Mims, Richard I. Mims; step-sister: Rita Kay Edge; and many loving nieces, nephews and relatives.
The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 12:30 until 2:30 p.m. at Reedy River Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Thursday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at Reedy River Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Reedy River Baptist Church, 871 N. Hwy. 25 Bypass, Greenville, SC 29617.

I miss Micheal Phillips so much. My first memory with him was sitting outside of his and mary´s house and he was telling me random stories. He is missed by so many people. He was an amazing person and i miss him a lot and wish i could have been able to talk to him and get to know him more.

Mike was a great, life long friend with my husband. The first time I met him it seemed as though I had known him forever....he had that friendly spirit. He will be missed by many. And his frequent corny jokes will be missed.

CELEBRATING A LIFE WELL LIVED* I knew Mike fom Forrest Oil when I worked there he would get his gas from us. I was devastated when I say he had passed.He was a great friend. Remember Gods promise he may make us bend but he want let us break. GOD BLESS YOU ALL

My family is devastated to hear the news of this great man's passing. In the last 13 years we have known him, anything we've needed done to our property was expertly completed by him.
He would never charge what he should have to help us thru the lean times. We could always count on him. I can't put into words what his friendship meant to my family. I know firsthand what a devoted church man he was as well as a loving husband and father. Mike made our whole community a much better place and we will miss him terribly. I know we will see him again,
until then our hearts are heavy with sorrow!

Mike was my cousin and I have very fond memories of him. I was staying with the family when I was little and I fell on a piece of glass and cut my finger open. Mike ran to my side til my Aunt Ollie could get to me. He was always the sweetest guy and his voice made you smile. You will be missed Mikey...

Mike was one of the best people i have ever had the honor to know. He loved his family and friends. He cherished life and the simlpe things that it had to offer.Mike always went above and beyond to help his friends and neighbors. Mikey was such a wonderful and devoted friend and will be missed by all who knew him. Draw on the strength and peace that comes from knowing that he is in a better place and you will see him again. Just think, he has been reunited with his dear friend Jackson and I can see them now sitting at the feet of their Lord and Savior singing praises and worshiping without a single care nor tear. They are probably doing a little fishing and shooting the breeze too. Mary, just know that my thoughts and prayers go out to you and the children and to all of Mikey's family and friends. Trust in the Lord and He will see you through. That's his promise to us and He always keeps His promises.
