Harold Clinkscales Obituary

Harold S. Clinkscales, age 81, husband of Joanne Smith Clinkscales of 2414 Smith McGee Road, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2008, at his residence.

Born April 15, 1927, in Starr, he was a son of the late Harold and Lila Harris Clinkscales. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in vocational agriculture education from Clemson College. Also he served in the U.S. Army Reserve, and after twenty-two years of service Mr. Clinkscales retired as a lieutenant colonel.

Mr. Clinkscales retired after thirty years as a vocational agriculture teacher from the state of South Carolina public school system, having taught at Cleveland High School in Oconee County, Calhoun Falls High School, and Crescent High School. He was a member of Starr Baptist Church.

The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at Starr Baptist Church, conducted by the Reverend Tony Howell and the Reverend Sam Duncan. Interment will follow in the Starr Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2008.

The McDougald Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
