Born in Possum Kingdom, SC, he was the son of the late Earl Holcombe and Annie Mae Neal Holcombe. He was a humble man born into a large family of 15 siblings. Ralph also liked to race cars, watch cowboy movies with John Wayne and Clint Eastwood being two of his favorite actors. He was an avid fisherman and also loved attending the Church of God where he's been recently saved.

In addition to his wife, Jean, of 53 years, he is survived by daughter, Ann Martinez husband Lewis; and son, Michael Holcombe wife Misty; 6 grandchildren: Josh, Beth, Hannah, Tyler, Taylor, and Mikaela; 2 sisters Carolyn and Helen; and 6 brothers, Bobby, Don, Harold, Wayne, Jimmy, and Dean.

Ralph was preceded in death by one son, David Holcombe; 6 brothers and 1 sister.
