Funeral service to honor the life of LeRay will be held Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Norris. Burial at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 3:00 until 5:00 PM at Liberty Mortuary.

Charlotte LeRay Dunn Maw, 64, of 193 Brookbend Road, passed away Thursday at Oconee Memorial Hospital. Born in Rutherfordton, NC, she was the wife of Melvin Alfred Maw and the daughter of the late Walter Graham Dunn, Jr. and Martha Crawford Dunn. She was a graduate of Daniel High School and Tri-County Technical College and was retired from Clemson University. LeRay loved the outdoors and was a member of the Pendleton Area Saddle Club and the Team Noah Saddle Club in which she was instrumental in forming to raise money for the American Heart Association. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Norris where she was a dedicated volunteer for the food pantry. She and Melvin had been married for over 46 years.

Surviving in addition to her husband is a son, Jeff Maw(Katrina) of Central; a brother, Dennis Dunn(Shara) of Six Mile; a sister-in-law, Janie Swords(Wayne) of Liberty; several nieces and nephews Andy Swords(Heather) Nathan Swords(Kasey), Emileigh Swords and Scout Swords; Corbett Dunn(Dana), Kinsley and Noah Dunn; Katherine Green and Kaylington Green; and especially her loving dogs, Sam and Roadie.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Norris Food Pantry: PO Box 130 Norris, SC 29667, or to the American Heart Association in her memory and in honor of "Team Noah" by visiting www.heart.org.

So many awesome things can be said about LeRay. Woman of God, Very kind, unselfish and a beautiful contagious smile. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Although this is one of God's many promises, it does not mean missing LeRay will be easy. Prayers to Melvin and family
