A good next door neighbor for many years in the Fourth Ward. A very good friend your entire life. A great athlete, and a terrific racquetball doubles partner. (You and "Archie" are probably playing at this moment!). I'll never forget our golfing vacation in the Bahamas. Everyone who knew you will miss "wha da you kidding me?"

Jack, From the first day we met I knew you were a special guy. I remember taking pictures of you on your motorcycle, riding in your Mustang and Model T. We had a lot of fun from the Ground Round to Shooters and Tommy's house. You always knew how to have a good time! No one was more generous than you and it was proven over and over. When I saw you on Sunday I never thought it would be for the last time, I will never forget you. Thanks for a great 45 years! Billy Kalinski

Jack was one who really enjoyed life. He loved to tell a fun story and make people laugh. I have not seen Jack in quite a few years, but I have lots of fond memories of all the great times we had growing up in the 60’s and 70’s.

Jack and I were born across the street from each other on Northfield Street. We were lucky to grow up in the 4th Ward with the support of all the families who kept watch over all the kids in the neighborhood. We all helped make William Street playground a National Historic Landmark. Climb over the Covello's back fence and we had our own field of dreams on Brunswick's lush ball fields. Who taught Jack to be such a great cross-handed hitter and a cross-handed 2 handicap golfer? At the Y his laugh was contagious when he tossed in a long jumper or finished you off on the racquetball court with a backhand killer. He enjoyed life. Jack, his best friend Charlie Weiss, and I had a ball growing up together. Being in Maryland since 1967 I was happy to get back home this summer and spend a few hours with Jack at Island Beach. Jack was a life long friend and I'm glad we were able to see each other, laugh at some of our youthful escapades, and agree that we were both lucky for sharing our mutual childhood friends. If St. Peter sponsors a racquetball team Jack and his next door neighbor, Archie Rupp, will be his #1 two-man team. Rest in peace Jack.

You have a Beautiful Neice and Nephew that you have never met and I am sorry to say now its too late. Ryan has Frankies grin. Always gets him in trouble. I have always looked up to you and will miss you terribly. I love you. Say Hi to my Dad for me.

Jack was an enigma. There were times when he seemed to live in an alternate universe, however, if you needed him for anything, he was there. He lived a fully leaded life. He made an impression. He could be a benign annoyance or a formidable ally. He clearly watched over his friends and others. Unfortunately, he learned of the horrors which sometimes await you out there. There are an inexhaustible supply of Jack stories among those who came in contact with him. Remember and repeat often the great ones. He was not a subtle character and always a person of interest. His memory will never become obscure. There is no scientific evidence to support the contention there is an afterlife, however, if it is out there, I hope Jack is just starting the back 9 and endeavoring to go low.
JTW, rest content.

I knew Jack, and his family,in the "4th Ward" in the '50's, and we were good friends growing up, and laughed about the "early days" when ever we met after that. He was a survivor, and came from some unfortunate family circumstances as a kid, but never let that keep him back. Great and unfogettable laugh. My condolences to his family. Jack will be missed as a great friend to many.

Jack was one of my best friends since seventh grade at Centrlal and GHS. We shared many of lifes expereinces. Jack used to tell me "you have many acquiantances but very few friends" Jack was a friend. I knew that if I was ever in a bind there was always one number I could call. Therfore I will not be deleting Jack's number from my speed dial or my memory.

I am saddened by Jack's death, and extremely saddened for the pain that Maureen must be going through. Our family has been through a lot of unfortunate tragedies. My regret is that I did not get to known Jack better. Life is short, value it. We should not postpone sharing time with family for later - it may never come.

I grew up with Jack in the "fourth ward" and feel very saddened that he is gone. I knew his whole family and there were many good times when we were kids. My brother Jack also feels terrible about Jack's death and was talking to him on Friday recalling all the memories they shared when they were younger. My family sends their sympathies to Maureen and Mark.

Jack was a GREAT PERSON who knew how to have fun. We had fun riding motorcycles, had fun working at the Putnam Trust together, and more fun going to Aunt Marie's in Florida.
