Eleanor and George met us when they stopped in upon buying their house. They realized since we were the first house we might be able to help with info. We were delighted to welcome them and share our info which was mainly they would be in by the holidays ..... only the builder was never sure of which holidays . We shared going to parties over the years and had many other chuckles . That is a great picture of her; it expresses her joy and her warmth. I am sure the entire family must miss her; alittle every day and a whole lot. Beth and tom

We were one of Eleanor and George's first neighbors on Pheasant Lane, Beth worked at KHS with her and we have been to their house and many neighborhood parties. She was great company with her infectious smile and engaging laughter. I know she leaves a big space unfilled in the family. Love to all. Beth and Tom Doherty

While I was never formally enrolled in her reading classes, Mrs. Duhnkrack and I became acquainted because her classroom was adjacent to the English Department's book room. That's where my Latin class took place. She radiated positive energy, was always smiling and interested in what and how I was doing. I remember when she came into one class to teach us about organization and good study habits. I missed her and wish I'd seen her since graduating, but alas, she retired that same year, too. I'm happy she made it to 87 and hope she had a very fulfilling and well-deserved retirement hopefully surrounded by people as loving and special as she always was with students and colleagues alike. You brought a certain light into my high school experience. I shall continue to carry it with me always. Thank you, Mrs. Duhnkrack. I'm glad you signed my yearbook before we both left KHS forever. Deepest sympathies to her family... Jason Bowns

Eleanor was such a gracious, kind, and cultured lady! She and I had the same lunch period at Killingly High School, and I had the pleasure of her company, intelligence, and subtle wit during many lunches. I admired and respected this elegant woman for the effort and caring she continuously gave to her students.

Knowing that many prayers are in your behalf and mostly that the God of all comfort is your strength and arm of peace is surely soothing to the heart. This is our prayer for you during this time of sorrow. Isaiah 65: 17-25. God knows your pain. Draw close to Him.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any mans death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.
