Mary Lou,
A priest once told me death is but walking through the door to eternal life. You and your family have my deepest condolences on the death of your father. From what I have read in his obituaries he was a wonderful husband and father. God blessed him with a long life with his family and friends.

Dearest Family,
With deepest sympathy and love, my prayers go out to all of you. Although I never met Dr. Gormley, I knew him just from the stories Mary Lou told from time to time...as an endearing father and loving husband. May God welcome him Home in all glory.

My heartfelt sympathy and prayers go out to the extended Gormley Clan. I can recall and will always appreciate Doc Gormely's engaging personality and sense of fair play/sportsmanship from my very early summers at Davenport. I will also never forget my father saying to me (year's ago) that Gene was one of his 'best' friends, i.e., one of those who could be counted on one hand; for me this was a testimony of his character and warmth as a truly decent human being. Dear Mary and Gormley Family.
Please know that you are in our prayers at this difficult time.
We will deeply miss Mr. Gormley, his ever present smile, gentle voice and his acts of kindness. Whenever we saw him, he had a broad smile on his face and asked after our children and family.
May G-d bring you comfort, consolation and look after both Mr. Gormley and your entire family.

We are so saddened by the news. Dr. Gormely (he will always br Dr. to us) was a great friend to our parents, a great dentist to us, and just a great person. I remember him always smiling. Our family matched yours almost child for child. There are so many fond memories, we will all miss him and we will keep "Dr. Gormley" and you in our hearts and prayers. With much love, Cora Koch ( Haworth, NJ)

Dear Gormley Family,
Know that all the priests and seminarians here in Cheshire are keeping all of you in prayer during this sorrowful time. May the Good Lord continue watching over you always. I'm sure Eugene got a red carpet reception: loving husband, dad of two priests and a loving father to his wonderful family.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any man's death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.

WE KNOW ONLY THREE OF THE GORMLEY CHILDREN ... IF THIS IS ANY INDICATION, DR. GORMLEY WAS A MAN OF GREAT INTEGRITY AND STRENGTH. CLEARLY THIS MAN KNEW, LOVED AND SERVED GOD ALL THE DAYS OF HIS LIFE. MAY HE REST IN PEACE. WELL DONE THY GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT.
PLEASE ACCEPT OUR PRAYERS AND CONDOLENCES. YOU HAVE 93 YEARS OF LOVE AND MEMORIES AND GOOD TIMES... SOMETIMES THIS PARTING CAN BE EVEN HARDER BECAUSE THE OLDER GIANTS IN OUR LIVES BECOME MORE FULL OF LIFE THE LONGER THEY LIVE!
