Richard Helmrich Obituary
Richard "Ric" Gordon Helmrich, a Greenwich resident, passed away August 14, 2017 at the age of 63. Born on November 10, 1953 to the late Robert and Eleanor Helmrich. Richard was employed at Seacoast, a Division of EIS.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Laurette Helmrich, his loving children Anna Waldrop (Jon), Tyler Helmrich, and Spencer Helmrich, his cherished grandchildren Jon, Gianna, and Annabelle. Richard is also survived by his siblings Patricia Sherry, Barbara Hoines, Robert Helmrich, Ellen Helmrich, Lynn Williams and many nieces and nephews.
Ric devoted his life to his children and his community, Glenville, both of which he served as a Scout Leader with Pack and Troop 35, and as a Little League Coach for more than seven years. An avid animal lover, he could often be found at the Grass Island Dog Park with his puppy Gunner. He was famous for his ability to make pizza and was happiest when he could feed his creations to the many friends and family he loved. His heart was huge and his memory will be cherished by the many people whose lives he touched.
To honor his life, family and friends will gather Monday, August 21 from 4-8 p.m. at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME, 134 Hamilton Avenue, Greenwich, 203-869-5968. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, August 22 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Church, Greenwich. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to: Boy Scout Troop 35, Wells Fargo Bank, 220 Glenville Road, Greenwich, CT 06831. To the Helmrich Family - we just heard the news of Ric's passing. We have such fond memories of Ric from Pack 35 and it was always so nice to run into him over the years in and around Glenville. Always a broad smile and kind word was had when our paths crossed.

To Ric's family I can only tell you that his presence will be sorely missed.
He had a zest for life and a love for his family that shined forth like a lighthouse on a foggy night. Gunner was a late addition
but you could just tell by the light in his eyes
Gunner had found a loving home.

Thinking of Laurette and family. Ric was a good man, always smiling and very pleasant to talk to. I will always have fond memories of him attending his boy's baseball games and loving every minute of it. Rest peacefully, Ric, and God bless you.

I met Rick when we lived on the same floor in the dorm our Freshman year at Southern.
Several of us on the floor pledged Phi Alpha Omega Fraternity and became lifetime brothers.
Rick was a very positive influence that helped to keep our pledge class together.
