Nancy Pecora Obituary
Nancy V. Pecora, 74, passed away on July 24, 2013 due to complications after a long illness. She was surrounded by her loving family. Nancy was born in Greenwich, CT to Horace and Filomena (Fanny) LoParco. She is survived by her loving husband, Sylvester J. Pecora Sr.; her daughters, Elizabeth A. Varney (Jim) and Mary Jo Pecora-Runkle (Scott); her sons, Joseph a. Pecora (Melinda) and Sylvester J. Pecora, Jr. (Alissa); and eleven grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Mauro LoParco (Blanche) and her sister, Fedelia Brunetti (Jim). She is predeceased by her parents and her sister, Marie Suster. Nancy graduated from Greenwich High School in 1957. She worked for a short time at American Cyanamid and Barnes Engineering. Nancy married her best friend Sylvester in 1960 and had four children during their 53 year marriage. Nancy devoted her time, love and energy into raising her family. She was a regular volunteer at Hamilton Avenue School while her children attended. She could also be seen volunteering at St. Roch's Church Summer Feast making pizza fritta. Nancy was all about her Family. Nancy's devotion to her husband and children was evident to all who knew her. Her greatest joy in life was cherishing each of her eleven grandchildren. Nancy never missed a chance to celebrate those special moments in their lives. She would be seen cheering each grandchild at their concerts, plays, sporting events and recitals. She instilled into her children and grandchildren a strong sense of family love that will last forever, often saying "Your best friends are your family". Calling hours will be Monday, July 29, 2013 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Avenue, Greenwich, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Roch's Catholic Church, 10 Roch's Avenue, Greenwich, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Roch's Church or a charity of your choice.

To Pinky and family!
I just found out about Nancy's passing and want to express to you and your family my sincere thoughts and prayers. I went to RHS and graduated in 1957 with Nancy and the whole Chickahominy crowd! We had so much fun growing up and being together at Hamilton Ave School, even though I was from Cos Cob !
My heart aches today as I remember her .

Dear Slyvester and Family: It was with deep sadness that we learned of the passing of Nancy, a sweet and loving woman who gave her all to her husband, children and grandchildren. When I remember "Aunt Nancy" I see her in the kitchen ironing and laughing at something we said as children...A wonderful woman who was the center of her family...whether she was ironing or cooking the love was in the details...she loved all the day to day tasks of making a house a home...she was, I am sure, a role model for her 4 terrific children showing that love is family. When I think of "Aunt Nancy" I always see her in the kitchen, ironing and laughing at something we said or did as children...Home was everything to her -- her children, family and the day to day tasks that make a house a home...I am sure she was the role model of what a family should look like to her 4 very special children...love was in the details for her...so very sorry for your loss.
