Stanley F. Keller, Longtime Port Chester Firefighter, Dies at age 86. Port Chester native Stanley F. Keller of Rye, NY, died on Monday, July 20 at the age of 86 after a brief illness. He was born in Port Chester, NY on January 18, 1929, the oldest son of Stanley F. Keller Sr. and Sophie Merritt. He will be deeply missed by his loving Family. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Priscilla (Walters) Keller and his daughter, Judy Keller of Greenwich, CT., and his brother, Kenneth K. Keller, of Greenwich, CT. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Elaine Zeh and Dorothy Keller, and brother-in-law Arthur Walters (Ruth) and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Robert. He proudly served his country during the Korean War from January 1951 – January 1953. During his time in the service, he earned his High School Equivalency Diploma in 1953. Upon his return from military service, he joined the Village of Port Chester as a Professional Firefighter where he served the town in that capacity for 30 years until his retirement in 1984. He also joined Putnam Engine and Hose Company No. 2 of the Port Chester Fire Department as a volunteer firefighter and remained an active member for over 60 years until the time of his death. He also was an active member of the Port Chester Fire Department Benevolent Association where he served as their Secretary/Treasurer for approximately 25 years. He was a member of the Rye Presbyterian Church in Rye, NY. Family and Friends are invited to visit at The Castiglione Funeral Home, 544 Old Post Road #3, Greenwich, CT., on Monday, July 27 from 4-8 p.m. Burial will be private at a future date.
