Mannetti, Ernest F.
Ernest F. Mannetti, 57, of Bethel, Connecticut, passed away Thursday, September 1 2016 at his home. Originally from Greenwich CT, he was the son of the late Elda and Ernest Mannetti. He attended Brunswick School, graduated from Greenwich High School 1977, and from Bennington College in Vermont where he received degrees in music and drama. He spent a term abroad in London. Ernie was an accomplished drummer, base player, singer, and song writer who played in many bands throughout his life. Besides his musical talents, he will be remembered for his charismatic personality, love of life, and sense of humor. Ernie worked closely with his dad, Ernest Mannetti, building homes in the Greenwich CT area, including Ernel Drive and Mannetti Lane, both named after his family. He relocated to Bethel, Ct where he lived with his childhood sweetheart, Isabel Real, and raised their daughter Ava. Ernie was a devoted father and doted on Ava, taking her to karate, voice lessons, gymnastics and all fun places. He also helped Isabel to run Huntington Package in Huntington, CT. Ernie is survived by his life-long partner and friend, Isabel Real, and their daughter Ava. He is also survived by his sister, Maria Mannetti Kivijarv, his brother in law Leo Kivijarv, nephews, Josh and Matt Kivijarv and countless friends that he touched throughout his life and will remember him fondly. He will be sorely missed.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm at the Riverview Funeral Home 390 River Rd. A Memorial mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 11:30 am in St. Lawrence Church 505 Shelton Ave. Shelton. Memorial contributions may be made to Ava Education Fund through the funeral home.
