News Death Notice

GUTHRIE, Mary L. age 84, passed away June 1, 2012 at Rosebud Village in Richmond, IN. She was born April 5, 1928 to Ralph and Loma (Phelps) Whitaker in Monroe, OH. She was a member of the Church of Mayfield in Middletown, OH and the First Church of God in Richmond, IN. She was a supervisor at Second National Bank and was a caregiver. She loved to garden, work crossword puzzles, music and she was devoted to her family. Mary is survived by her daughters, Joanna (Donald) Fluhr of Ft. Wayne, IN., Mary E. Bright and Linda Murphy both of New Paris, OH; grandchildren, Robert Scott Guthrie, Kristina and April Fluhr, Joshua, Matthew and Mary Nicole Bright, Joseph Murphy and Amber Ellis; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Barbara (Donald) Steins of Springboro, OH; sister-in-law, Marjorie Whitaker of Franklin, OH; brother, Ben (Maxine) Fletcher of Monroe, OH and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert E. Guthrie; brothers, Douglas and James Whitaker. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2012 from 11:30 to 1:30 PM at Baker-Stevens- Parramore Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life service will follow on Wednesday at 1:30 PM with Pastor Brady Feltz officiating. Interment will be at North Monroe Cemetery.
