Chuck and I knew each other during our high school and college years , even though I went to Lebanon High School. I was in the Army , and reunited with a Chuck in Saigon during the Vietnam war.mHe had flown a C-130 from Thailand to Saigon where we met and had a few drinks together. A good guy that I always liked and we had a mutual friend, Dale Barker, whom we all had fun together. So sorry to hear about his death.

Paula, Mark & Jinnie,
It was with great sadness when I learned of Chuck's passing. We lived on Aberdeen Dr in Middletown one block away from the Beatties. One of many memories was one particular summer evening, we were having a cookout at Miller's, next door neinghbors of Chucks & we kids were playing "kick the can" when Chuck came out of nowhere heading to kick the actual can, but his route to the can included going under a clothes line which he didn't see. It him on his neck really forcefully. I thought he was killed but instead he only suffered a terrible rope burn across the front of his neck. After that, I always thought he was indestructible. We were not only neighbors & Middie football teammates, but great friends as well especially through our high school years. Both Chuck & Bob Burns, another Aberdeen neighbor were responsible for getting me started in football.
Please except my condolences,
Jim Nein

Chuck, always a smile, laugh, story, and a back yard pond full of large goldfish to take care of! Brought a great deal of sadness to read of your loss and the rest of our memories to be just that, fond memories. A Pilot who will be missed.
