Betty Cobine Obituary

Betty J. Cobine of Atwater passed away Saturday, October 30, 2010 in a Merced hospital at the age of 84 years. She was a native of Merced and lived in that area all her life. Betty was a retired rancher. She loved the out of doors including: camping, fishing, treasure hunting and family gatherings. She was raised on a ranch in the Livingston/Turlock area and drove a logging truck in her younger years. Betty was a loving aunt and will be missed greatly.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband; Joseph William Cobine and her foster parents; Ulysses S. Darrah and Jessie Darrah.

She is survived by a cousin; Mable Kline of Modesto, several nieces and nephews; Mary Tucker of Fresno, Anne Huffman of Armona, Darlene King of Fresno, Janet Saulter of Darnell, Arkansas, Sandy Jones of San Jose, Betty Montgomery of Lemoore, Lois Miguel of Hanford and David Johnson of Visalia.

Visitation will be Friday from 4-7 p.m. at Phipps-Dale Funeral Chapel in Lemoore. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Grangeville Cemetery in Armona, CA.

Friends who wish may contribute to the American Cancer Society, 2222 W. Shaw Ave., #201, Fresno, CA 93711.

Arrangements are under the direction of Phipps-Dale Funeral Chapel in Lemoore.
