Deanna Martinez Obituary

Deanna L. Martinez was born Deanna L. Foutch in Torrance, Ca on November 1, 1967, and passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Friday, November 5, 2010.

Deanna graduated from Hanford High School in 1985, University of the Pacific in 1989 and UC Hastings College of the Law in 1992. Deanna was a Federal District Attorney with the Department of Justice where she worked in the pursuit of law and its justice. She also taught weekly classes at San Joaquin College of Law and University of Phoenix.

A compassionate woman that has blessed and touched so many lives in her 43 years. Deanna worked, taught and played with a passion and tireless energy. A friend to all she came to know and love, doing anything and everything to make everyone else around her feel comfortable. A daughter, sister, mother, wife, aunt and friend, she left us knowing that we all loved her dearly.

Deanna left a lasting impression on family and friends with her sense of humor and love of people.
A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful and compassionate staff, doctors and nurses at St. Agnes Hospital and to the stream of family and friends that visited, prayed, called, messaged and emailed during this difficult time.

She was proceeded in death by her father, Harry Foutch. She is survived by her husband, Anthony (Tony) Martinez; her children Alyssa and Adrian; her mother and stepfather Marilyn and Bruce Kenney; her brother and sister in law Mike and Cherine Foutch and their daughters, Amanda and Amber; her mother and father in law Rufus and Pauline Martinez; her brother in law Thomas Martinez and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Church in Fresno, on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 10 a.m.

I know that this message is a little late, although, I recently learned of Deanna's passing. "Mrs. Martinez" I called her, as she taught my class at San Joaquin College of Law in 2006-Paralegal Program. I was even more blessed that she became my last teacher to ever teach me in the MBA program at University of Phoenix-2010. She was very intelligent and I always looked up to her as a respectful person. I will always remember her, and my thoughts are with her family.

I only remember Deanna as a little girl, and even then she was incredibly brave and so very adorable. Her dad was having to give her the daily insulin injection, and Harry was more frightened that Deanna! She said something like, "don't be scared daddy, just do it!" She was an amazing little girl who grew up to be an even more amazing young woman. I know she will be missed.

Mrs. Martinez was a good friend and an inspiration to Alyssa, Nia, I, and everyone she met. Deanna was a mom on my brother, Hayden's baseball team. Our family enjoyed spending the last two summers with eachother playing baseball. Deanna will be dearly missed by everyone she knew and loved.

Deanna was not only a sister-in-law to my daughter but her dearing best friend from her college days and always welcomed me and my wife Janice into her home and family. I remember one New Years Eve we all spent at her home and she bought everyone a pair of pajama's to wear for the occasion but as an old fuddy duddy I refused to wear those silly P.J's. To tell the truth everyone had a great time and I had always wished I had worn those darn silly pajamas. Maybe I will get the chance do do it in her memory someday. She will always be in my heart.

I haven't seen Deanna since high school and often wondered where life had taken her. We were in Youth In Government together and I can remember a lot of fun times doing fundraisers to get ourselves to Sacramento and all the fun that comes with teens unleashed on the city without parents. I will always remember her sharp wit. ;0)

DeAnna, I have missed you so much in my life. I'm so happy we got to have some time to catch up at the reunion. You always made me laugh when we were growing up. I'll cherish my memories of you forever.

To the Martinez & Foutch Family, my prayers go out to you for strength & peace from The Jones Family in your loss at this time and always. May you find comfort in knowing DeAnna is at rest, peacefully and without pain.

With Love,
