Janice Miller Obituary
Janice was born in Hanford on August 6, 1960 to Merrill and Loretta Barnes. She was raised and educated in Hanford. She attended elementary school, Woodrow Wilson Junior High School and graduated from Hanford High School in 1978. Janice was attending College of Sequoias when she met and married Keith Miller in the early 1980s. They made their home in Hanford where Janice was a homemaker. To this union was born two beautiful children, Jennifer Lynne and Steven Keith. Family was very important to Janice and she enjoyed time spent together. Family heirlooms and photographs were her treasures. Janice enjoyed watching her favorite game shows and programs. She also enjoyed animals of all kinds and was known to adopt those without a home. Janice attended First Baptist Church of Hanford and was never far away from an encouraging devotional. Janice will be missed greatly by those who knew and loved her.
Janice was preceded in death by her mother, Loretta in 1973. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Jennifer Stockford and husband, Simon of England; her son, Steven Miller and wife, Autumn of Germany; her father, Merrill Barnes and Patty Somerfield of Palm Desert, California; three brothers, Steven Barnes and wife, Debra of Hanford, California, Donald Barnes and wife, Toni of Sparks, Nevada and David Barnes and wife, Kimberly of Aliso Viejo, California as well as several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Services: A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. at People's Funeral Chapel. A reception will be held immediately following at the Bercher Family home at 407 West Malone Street in Hanford.

I lived across the street from you guys on Leland Way and have thought of Janice so often, especially the last several years. Though I hadn't talked to her since her accident back in, what? 1973? I always considered her such a delight! I am so sorry for your loss.

Our world is not as bright without Janice here with us. She was an extraordinary person. I pray the love of Jesus fills all whom she loved with comfort as they walk through this deep valley of pain. Such a beautiful Soul. I am honored to have known her. Fly high precious dove.
