Jon Struikman Obituary
Jon loved sports. He played Little League and Babe Ruth in Hanford. Jon also played varsity center on the Hanford High School Basketball team. After high school he went to Abilene, Texas Christian College. The first summer of 1984 Jon came home and was working for his father and had an accident which left him paralyzed.
He was very active in community service such as working with the YMCA, serving on the Grand Jury, Christian Business Association as well as Crossroads Ministries. Jon was a strong Christian. He loved the Lord and is now with the Lord.
Jon was preceded in death by his father, Pete.
Jon is survived by his mother, Wilma; brothers, Louis Struikman and Peter Struikman and wife, Sandy; sisters, Doreen Verdegaal and husband, Jeff and Alyce Anderson and husband, Dick as well as many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 3 p.m. at Kings Christian Fellowship, 1461 N. 10th Ave in Hanford, CA.

To The Struikman Family,
I have such great memories of Jon from all our years together at Hanford Christian and again at HUHS. Our class at Hanford Christian was such a small tight knit group and we were more like brothers and sisters than classmates. What a wonderful testimony of strength Jon gave to others.

My heart goes out to your family, during this time of sorrow. I had the pleasure of knowing Jon, while serving on the Grand Jury with him. I will miss not seeing Jon around Hanford and chatting with him. Jon will surely be missed.
