I remember when I was a small child my aunt lela mae came to visit my mom. from California to Wichita, Ks. My mom Dorothy Hall was a home body. When She arrived at our house auntie lela mae told my mom Dorothy to get dress We are going to go out..all I remember was she was picking my moms clothes out to get her out of the house.. My moms was happy to see her sister.. My auntie lela mae had a very good spirit with her she made me happy to she her uplift my mom and encouraged her to get out and go have some fun with her sister.. I love auntie so much she has alway been on my mind and my heart as I grew up from a child to a young lady.. I prayed and prayed to find my Auntie lela mae.. so I moved out of Kansas to Sacramento I never gave up looking for her and one day I finally found a phone number on the internet with all of her childrens name.. I gave it to my sister Sharin to have her to call the number..and my prayers was answered..because I always wanted to reunite my mom and her sisters and brothers together again ...I feel good that I did get my prayers answered.. she was the light that nevered went dim..very out going sweet young beautiful lady with a special gift ...from god.. and she will never never be forgotten.. with 5 beautiful and very blessed children...that I cannot wait to meet.. love you auntie and you will never be forgotten..

Mom you are so dear in my heart, and I know you are looking down on your children and smilling, Mom I miss you so much, the pain is almost unbarible, but I know you are in a better place, God needed his singing angel. Now you can sing praises anytime you want. Mom you are my mentor, and I am so needing your strength and energy, and passion for God. But I will keep on fighting for Christ one day at a time. I will never give up on God, That was one of the things you taught us. Love you with all of my heart your daughter Mary

MOTHER BURRIS LOVED THE LORD WITH ALL HER HEART. SHE LOVED ATTENDING CHURCH AND SINGING PRAISES TO THE LORD. ONE SONG SHE SANGED THAT I REALLY, REALLY LOVED. I ALWAYS THINK ABOUT HER WHENEVER I HEAR THIS SONG OR WHENEVER THE SONG COMES INTO MY MIND.. THE SONG IS....." IN TIMES LIKE THESE, YOU NEED YOUR BIBLE, IN TIMES LIKE THESE, YOU GONNA NEED A FRIEND. BE VERY SURE, BE VERY SURE, YOUR ANCHOR HOLDS AND GRIPS THE SOLID ROCK. THAT ROCK IS JESUS AND HE IS THE ONE; THAT ROCK IS JESUS AND HE IS THE ONLY ONE. SO BE VERY SURE, BE VERY SURE, THAT YOUR ANCHOR HOLDS AND GRIPS THE SOLID ROCK". AMEN I MISS HER. I WILL SEE HER AGAIN WHEN THE LORD COMES FOR ME.

I know you will always miss your mom...but now she is at peace and in a better place. She loved all her beautiful daughters and cherished all the great times spent together.
Let the wonderful memories put a smile on your face in those dark moments when you are missing her and continue to stay in prayer.

On the floor of the hospital where mom passed away, was a maternity ward facing the ICU. There were lives coming into this world and lives leaving this world. I couldn't help but recognize the irony of it all. Seeing the contrast between well-wishers at birth and mourners at death inspired this poem:
There was no fanfare
when breath took no air
no horns blown
for this soul gone
where just down the hall
we saw tiny souls fall
into this world with celebration
into arms of jubulation
but a saint has gone home
a silent journey alone
no flowers sent
no balloons went
no cards, rhyming fables
set on beside tables
no well wishes
nor butterfly kisses
just the silent hum
of the machines still on
lines gone flat
indicating that
there should be
cheer and jubalee
for this soldier's end
of war and sin
overcoming of tribulation
reward of salvation
life enters in
and so death begins
when life exits out
is the time to shout
for us death's sting lost
for Jesus paid the cost
now soldiers have rest
our first birth being less
paler in comparison
to this soldier's inheritance;
Peace forevermore
on that distant shore
Love forever mom, Denise

The true test of a mother is the love of her children, and the very first quality I noticed in your family was love. You have my condolences for your loss. I promise that I am praying for your family. Your mother's tenacity in fighting of her illness was such an inspiration. Week after week she refused to give in, and now her Father has finally granted her rest. Remember Psalm 166:15 "Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints." She has no more pain, she is in the wonderful arms of her Savior. May God grant you the peace which passes all understanding as we wait to be reunited with her in the air.
