Ortencia Rodriguez Obituary

Ortencia Rodriguez, 87, a Hanford resident born May, 31, 1923, one of five children born to Sabina Martinez, has joined the Lord on October, 14 to be with Dad and Nellie, her first born. They have been waiting for you, just the three of you, as your first family again. You have so much to catch up on. We tried to keep you here for as long as we could. We will miss you but we know that you are at peace and with Dad. You were the last of five brothers and sisters in your family.

You were our anchor and our best friend. We could talk to you at anytime and you would not judge. You would listen to us and you'd say "That it would be alright, just wait and see," and you would be right. That we will miss. We'll just have to talk someplace else. But I can hear your answer already.

Peedee, Raymond, Cindy and I will be okay, just a hole in our heart now that you are gone. What will be hard is when the kids ask "where is Titi?" You have three children, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, one that you didn't get to meet, baby Krystina. But I know that you are watching over her now. They all love you and will miss you. We would also like to thank the staff at Hacienda Health for all that you did for our mom. Some of the staff still remember mom as "Ordie," when you started your career as a caregiver way back when. Any yes mom, after you retired they still double sheet just like you did. To Shelby, for the caring and loving attention given, wanting to follow in Titi's footsteps. Titi would be proud of you.

Mom you had a great life and the things you showed and taught us will always remain and be a great part of our lives. So go be with Dad and Nellie, you have so much to talk about. You are Mom, Dad and Daughter, just the three of you again. Don't worry, Peedee and I will be along soon and will be a family again. Remember our family vacations, all five of us, we sure do and we love you mom.

She is survived by son, Rocky and wife Cindy Rodriguez, granddaughter Krisha and husband Danny, four great-grandchildren, Kristopher, Angelo, Scott and baby Krystina. Daughter Peedee and husband Raymond Vallin, granddaughter Shelby, grandsons, Brandon and wife Jennifer, Matthew and wife Jesieka and two great-grandchildren, Jaleena and Maleah.

"In the darkest hour of the night, wrapped up warm in Angels wing's you took flight. Leaving our family where you were the queen, to be embraced by family for a long time not seen. Remembering all the times together we've spent. "very peacefully" I was told you went. Through tears of pain I cried out, "how? it's okay baby, she's with Grandpa now."

A viewing will be on Tuesday, October, 19 from 4:00 to 7:00 with rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Whitehurst-McNamara Funeral Service with a Graveside Service at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 10:00 a.m at Calvary Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Whitehurst-McNamara Funeral Services Chapel in Hanford.

Peedee,Rocky and family, I'm so sorry for your loss. I didn't attend because I didn't know. Your mom was a wonderful and beautiful woman and we always enjoyed when her and your dad came to my mom's house for special occasions and just because. We always loved her jello cake. My prayers go out to you and yours. Love Margie Alvarado (Huerta)

Dear Rodriguez Family: Today, I was saddened to see fresh flowers on the grave next to Nellie's and your dad's, I realized that your mom had passed away. I also thought of her reunited with your dad, Nellie and grandmother. I will pray for the repose of her soul, as I have for your dad and my dearest friend, Nellie. My deepest sympathy.
