Petra Montano de Pelayo Obituary

Petra Montano de Pelayo of Corcoran passed away unexpectedly Saturday October 2, 2010 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident at the age of 60. Mrs. Pelayo was born May 13, 1950 in Jalisco, Mexico to Nemesio and Zenaida Montano. Petra was a hard-working mother and a long time member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Corcoran. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, listening to music and spending time with family and friends. She will be best remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and dear friend. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by a son, Carlos Pelayo of Corcoran; a daughter, Leticia Pelayo of Corcoran; 3 brothers, Ignacio Montano of San Bernardino; Martin and Ruben Montano of Mexico; 5 sisters, Paula Dias and Maria Montano of Los Angeles; Adela, Teresa and Olivia Montano of Mexico. She was preceded in death by her husband Alejandro Pelayo in 2006.
A funeral mass will be held Monday October 11, 2010, 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes in Corcoran, followed by a graveside at Corcoran District Cemetery. A rosary will be held Sunday 4 p.m. at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel in Visalia and visitation will be held Sunday 12 to 6 p.m. at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
