Hazel Futrell Obituary

HARTFORD CITY–Hazel E. Futrell, 80, passed away Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010, at her residence.

The daughter of Ogden and Ella (Peterson) Mundorf, she was born March 7, 1930 in Griswold, Ia. She moved to Hartford City in 1948 and married Carl "Bob" Futrell on December 9, 1971.

Hazel worked at Sheller-Globe over 40 years, retiring in 1992.

Survivors include: her husband, Carl "Bob" Futrell; two daughters, Linda (Charles) Butcher and Frances (John) Hunt; four sons, David (Mandy) Murrell, Scott (Sheila) Murrell, Lester (companion, Edie Murray) Murrell and Nikki (Dee) Murrell, all of Hartford City; six step-children, Judy Futrell, Cindy Futrell, Janet (Nick) Charnley, Nancy Griffith, Bobby (Rita) Futrell and Bill (Allicia) Futrell; four sisters, Lucille Merritt, Eloise Perdue, Shirley Thomas, and Mary Ann Kirchoff; two brothers, Larry Mundorf and Neil Mundorf; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and special friend/caregiver, Brenda Lillard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Calvin, Everett, Edwin, Dorothy, and infant Mundorf, and a great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25 in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City, with her grandson, Pastor David Murrell officiating. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1-6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24 and Wednesday after 9 a.m. at the funeral home.
