Vincent Santacroce Obituary



Vincent E. Santacroce of Wallingford, Husband of the late Theresa (Luparia) Santacroce, died at Yale New Haven Hospital on Thursday, September 18, 2014. He was born October 9, 1927, son of the late Sebastiano and Lucia (Rame) Santacroce. He graduated from Middletown High School in 1945 and enlisted in the U.S. Army attaining the rank of Tech Sergeant. He later earned a degree in finance from Bryant College. In 1959 he was appointed the first, Finance Director of West Haven. In 1963 he was chosen to be the first finance director in Enfield a position from which he retired in 1995 after 32 years. He is survived by his brothers Emanuel V. Santacroce, of Yuba City California and Sebastian Santacroce of Middletown. He is also survived by nieces, Catherine Santacroce, Ann Marie Troy and Julie Ann Merritt, a nephew, Paul S. Santacroce and their children all residing in California. In Wallingford he is survived by a brother-in-law Louis and a Sister-in-law lole Luparia, a niece Tina, her two sons and her two nieces. Funeral Services will be held, Saturday September 27, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at D' Angelo Funeral Home, 22 South Main Street, Middletown, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at Saint Sebastian Church, 155 Washington Street. Middletown. Burial will be in St. Sebastian Cemetery, Route 66, Middlefield. Family and friends may call at the D'Angelo Funeral Home Friday evening from 5:00 - 8:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Vincent's name may be made to Saint Sebastian Church, Renovation Fund, Most Holy Trinity Church, Wallingford or to the charity of the donors choice. The family wishes to thank the Doctors, Nurses and staff at Yale New Haven Hospital for their professional and compassionate care. Special thanks to Amy for her vigilant and dedicated care.
