Elva McCann Obituary
Elva E. McCann, 89, of Manchester a lifelong Manchester resident passed away Monday, March 14, 2016 at her home. Elva was born in Hartford, August 2, 1926 daughter of the late Herbert E. and Anna E. (Lindenburg) McCann and sister of the late Earl E. McCann. She attended local schools and was employed for 32 years for the State of Connecticut, retiring as Business Service Officer in 1976. She was a longtime member of Second Congregational Church, Manchester Emblem Club, AARP and the CT State Employee Association. In years past, Elva and her brother Earl enjoyed their time attending the UConn Men and Women basketball programs, other athletic UConn activities and both were "avid" Red Sox fans. Elva is survived by several cousins. Funeral services will be private with burial in East Cemetery, Manchester. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. Watkins Funeral Home 142 E. Center St. Manchester is in care of arrangements.
