Elaine H. Bassell

BASSELL, Elaine H. (Dwire) Elaine Helen (Dwire) Bassell, 87, of Wellington, FL, formerly of Windsor and South Windsor, beloved wife of Benjamin E. Bassell, passed away on Tuesday (May 6, 2008), at her home in Florida. Born in Rutland, VT, daughter of the late Richard and Anna Dwire, she had lived in Windsor for 28 years, moving to South Windsor for 21 years, and then moving to Florida for the past three years. Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Edward Bassell and his wife Kellie of Wellington, FL; two daughters, Joan and her husband Edward Timreck, and Carol and her husband Brian Smurra, all of South Windsor; and four grandchildren, Victoria and Chrissy Timreck, Brett Smurra, and Katherine Bassell. She was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond and Richard Dwire; and a sister, Eileen Dwire. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 9:15 a.m., at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor, with a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., at St. Gertrude Church, 550 Matianuck Ave., Windsor. Burial will be in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Her family will receive friends on Monday, May 12, 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
