Clara Kremski

Clara (Szubzda) Kremski, 88, of New Britain, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at The Hospital of Central CT, New Britain, with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Judge Julius J. Kremski for 63years. She was born in New Britain, daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Roslan) Szubzda. Clara was a member of Sacred Heart Church, New Britain. Clara attended local schools including Sacred Heart School and New Britain Senior High School. She then went on to the Rhode Island School of Design where she majored in Costume Design. She worked designing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Clara returned to New Britain when she married Attorney Julius J. Kremski who subsequently was elected Mayor of New Britain and appointed a Superior Court Judge. She continued her costume designing for various firms as well by opening her own business on Broad St., New Britain. Clara leaves besides her husband Julius, a son Gregory Kremski, his wife Constance and their daughters Kathryn and Kira Kremski. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Clara was predeceased by her sisters Pauline Lech, Ann Pienkos and Florence Szubzda. Clara's funeral service will be held Thursday, Dec. 19th, 9:00 a.m. from the Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 158 Broad St., New Britain. She will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, Dec. 18th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Burritt Hill.
