Robert McCrystal Obituary

Robert "Bob" M. McCrystal, 58, of East Windsor, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, (November 23, 2002) at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. He was born on Nov. 21, 1944 in Ludlow, MA, the son of the late Patrick and Esther (Coughlin) McCrystal. Bob had resided in E. Windsor for the past 17 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. Bob was employed by Horst Engineering, E. Hartford, for the past three years, and formerly with Hamilton Standard for 23 years. He enjoyed spending his past time camping and fishing. Bob is survived by his wife of 19 years, Vivian (Begin) McCrystal; two sons, Michael McCrystal and his wife, Jennifer of Hudson, NH, and Scott McCrystal and his wife, Christine of Oxford; his stepchildren, John and Christine Pare of Ellington, Maurice and Christine Ahern of Somers, Kevin Ahern of Stafford Springs, and Cheryll and Ron Davis of Enfield; ten grandchildren, Daniel, Brianne, Carolyn, Jennifer, Sean, Danielle, Timothy, Magan, Derek and Lisa. Bob also leaves behind a brother, Patrick McCrystal of Southwick, MA; two sisters, Patricia Baceski of Tolland, MA and Sheryl McCrystal of Hardwick, MA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Rzewnicki. Funeral services for Bob will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 9:30 a.m. from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Rd., Enfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Bernard's Church, 426 Hazard Ave., Enfield. Committal service with military honors will take place in the Hazardville Cemetery, Enfield. Bob's family will receive relatives and friends in the evening TODAY, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
