Dear Michael, Ida and Family:
My Deepest Sympathy to all of you! He was a great man...what a loss! I was formerly the Activities Assistant at Summerwood. I had the pleasure of really getting to know him. He had so much patience with your Mother's Alzheimers disease. He shared many conversations with me and I tried to give him emotional support. However, last July 22nd..your Dad gave me tremendous emotional support. I broke my foot on an outing. He sat next to me on the 2 hour bus ride back to Summerwood.
He became my "Personal Doctor"! He kept telling me to raise my foot up and covered me with his coat. Every few minutes he would squeeze my hand to reassure me. I am sad to say this is the last time I saw your Dad.
I was touched by his act of kindness and compassion. A true gentleman
to the end, dignified, classy and kind!
With My Deepest Sympathy,
Mary Elizabeth Zahner
