I am beyond saddened at the loss of my beloved "scooter". I became friends with Dor way back when she was at Central and I will never forget watching "A Christmas Story" at her house and then the whole bunch of us heading off to Westfarms to Christmas shop. There are so many memories of Dor and none of them are less than fabulous;Cape Cod, Dek Hockey,The Condo in Cromwell. Sadly we had lost contact and when we finally reconnect our time to catch up is way too short, not that there could ever have been enough time with her. I have to add that although I have never met Jack I can only imagine he is one amazing guy to have won the heart of such an amazing woman. God Bless all of the family and take good care of our beloved angel.

Dorie was one of the kindest people I have ever met in my whole life. She was always smilimg, laughing and giggling when we were younger. I havent seen her in 25 years but I can only imagine what an amazing mother, wife, and friend she would have been, She never spoke ill of anyone, and she had such a kind, gentle spirit. I wish that God didnt need her in heaven so soon but she really was an angel and always nice to everyone. Rest in peace Dorothy and im sure she will be watching and cheering on her children from Heaven. God Bless you Dorie and your beautiful family. Sweet dreams

I worked with Dorie at The Hartford. From the moment our paths crossed, I knew she was an exceptional human being. Her warmth and kindness were so far reaching. She was one of those special people we all come across in our lives that we know we will never forget. She was blessed with beauty, brains and a gentle soul. She was so full of life, and her courage was and will continue to be an inspiration. My deepest sympathies to all of you. I pray that God will give you many moments of peace and happy reflection in the days ahead.

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be.So He put His arms around you and whispered “come to me.” With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest.God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. Love you always.

There are some people you feel are special just from the few interactions you have with them. Your feelings are validated from what you hear from others.
Whether it's how she managed a difficult meeting at work or how she cherished a simple meal with her family - the energy, passion and love for what she had and gave to all around her will be sorely missed.
May we all be comforted in knowing we have such a wonderful Angel now watching over all and continuing to teach us how life should be lived.
My prayers go out to all of you who have helped mold such a beautiful soul.

I knew her since our days at st Joseph in NB as well as worked with her at the Hartford. She fought hard and courageously. May you find comfort that she lives within each of you now until the day comes that you are reunited. God bless.

I met Dorie in 1997 at The Hartford.
Dorie ALWAYS had a smile and a laugh to share.

Dorie and I used to joke with each other; saying that we could never get married because she could not tolerate the name Dorie Dorish. What a great sense of humor.

My thoughts and prayers are with Dorie's beloved family.

Dearest family, my memories of Dor go far back. Though time had passed around us we spent a few hours each summer at the Dunes. Laughing, just sharing girl time. I still carry in my earthly possessions a card she gave me from 1994. It is full of the beauty, light and love that shined from her heart. I will hold on to that card and her friendship within my spirit forever. I love you Dor, and God Bless your family. Jack Jacky,Spencer and my beautiful Jamster and Ali.Love, Auntie Laura.

I haven't had the pleasure of meeting Dorie's family but I worked with her at The Hartford for several years and saw all the pictures. Dorie was always bright and beautiful and brought sunshine to our department. She was even kind enough to donate baby clothes and supplies to a young single mother I was helping through a Hartford charity program. She fought long and hard, didn't she? Her courage, positive attitude and happiness are an inspiration to all of us who knew her.

I will always picture Dorie on the beach in Rhode Island, with her family fluttering around us, Jack horsing around with the kids, eating sandwiches out of her perfectly packed cooler. In her short span of time, she knew what was important and paid homage to her family by her devotion to them all. We will miss her, and send our love to her family.
