I didn't have Mrs. Sampson for a regular teacher, but she was a GREAT substitute teacher that was always a pleasant surprise to see now and again when I was a kid at Anna Reynolds School. We used to talk about us both being from Maine's North Woods :-) Thanks for the memories.

Dear Sampson family,
I know how much George and Isabelle's friendship meant to my folks, Dennis and Geneva Ainaire. You are always part of our extended family and had just been talking about you all as we looked through old photo albums. My prayers and thoughts are with you all. Knowing you have wonderful memories will help to fill the hole left behind by Isabelle. Cherish all your times together- they are the glue that help us through the rough ones. With sympathy,

I was saddened to read of Isabelles passing, she was such a kind person. I remember sitting with her all night at the hospital when Sammy died. Sammy liked "Sandy" and she provided me with great comfort during that terrible night. My deepest sympathies to all the Sampson and Sands families

While I met her only once (at one of the camps in Dexter, Maine, when I was visiting the childhood haunts of her daughter, Jill), the glowing tributes written here by former students and neighborhood children -- filled with mention of her loving presence, her smile and hugs -- speak volumes.
For each of them -- and for her husband, their children, their children's children, and on, Isabelle will hold an important and lasting place in their hearts.

Dear Sampson Family,
We are deeply saddened to hear about Mrs. Sampson's passing. We were all privileged to have her as our Kindergarten teacher and she laid the foundation for our St. Mary's education, providing a strong base for our educational and moral development. We naturally remember the "Hello Hello" song, learning facts about who discovered America or the telephone, sitting around the number carpet, and playing in the sandbox. We remember how every time an ambulance or police car drove by with their siren wailing, the class would stop its lesson and pray "Jesus, help them." We fondly remember getting hugs from Mrs. Sampson on Fridays before we left for the weekend. Mrs. Sampson was a great woman and helped shape the lives of all her students. We are forever grateful and will hold a special place in our hearts for her. Our deepest condolences.
Sincerely,
Markian, Peter, and Andrea Kolinsky

To the entire Sampson Family - I am very sorry for your loss. I remember Mrs. Sampson very well growing up two doors down. She was always smiling when I saw her and stopped to talk to me all the time while walking thru the backyards to Mrs. Majewski's house. My thoughts are with you during this sad time.

Every time I saw Grammy she was wearing a beautiful smile! I am very grateful to have known her and lucky enough to have helped give her her first great-grandchild. I love hearing stories from Eric about her keeping journals on all of her grandchildren! And so much more! She was a wonderful woman who lived an exciting family-filled life. I can't wait to tell lily all about her as she grows.

Leigh, I am so sorry for your loss. I remember your parents going for their walk up Cherry hill Dr every night, hand in hand. If we were outside they would stop and chat. Great neighbors. Am I the only one who remembers your Mom , the dance teacher? Oh, what fun times we had. Lots of happy memories.
