To the family of my most beloved teacher, Mrs. Jane Swayne – I will always remember walking into her room with the sunbeam bread bags tied together around the room. She was the epitome of a teacher who taught students to love to learn. I have held every teacher I have ever had to the standards that she taught with and the same goes for my children's teachers. It is very rare to find someone as special as her. The twinkle in her eyes even when she was stern. She knew you could do better and told you so and you would do it because she said you could. I hope you know how special she was. Thank you for sharing her with us. I have always thought of her and I will truly miss her. I am sorry I never made it back home to say goodbye.

I was a school secretary at Elizabeth Green School in the 1970's, and Jane was that very special kind of teacher that every child wishes to have.
Mrs. Swayne was the most kind, gentle and loving teacher you could ever had hoped for. Indeed, she was "Mother" to every child that ever sat in her classroom.
Your entire family can take comfort in the knowledge that their mother, grandmother and great-grandmother personally touched the lives of so many with her knowledge and compassion. She will be dearly missed.
My condolences to everyone who has loved, and will miss, this wonderful woman.

When I was in her class she always told me I was her favorite citizen. Until this day I have always remembered that. Small words that touched my life.

We are so sorry to hear of Mrs. Swayne's passing. She truly was the best teacher in town. She was so very special as a teacher but so much more as a caring and loving person. Her wit and humor were part of her wonderful personality. She will be missed but never forgotten. Our deepest sympathy to her entire family, may she rest in peace.
Love,
The Tedeschi family
