LODOVICO, Louis P.

Louis P. Lodovico, 90, of New Britain, died Thursday (June 20, 2013) at the Hospital of Central Ct. at New Britain General. Lou was born in Bristol, Ct. and was the son of the late Liberato and Margaret (Aiello) Lodovico. He worked as a Foreman for General Electric for several years. Lou served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during WWII. He enjoyed gardening, going to casinos and ballroom dancing in his younger years with his wife. Lou loved spending his quality time with all of his grandchildren. Lou is survived by his cherished son, Louis L. Lodovico and his wife Lynn of Tolland, MA and his beloved daughter Margaret Litteral, of Avon; his sister, Mary Hodis of New Britain; his grandchildren, Shannon, Tammy, Kimberly and her husband Jeremy, Amy and Louis; his great-granddaughter Makayla; his two sisters-in-law, Chick Crescentini and Mary LaFlamme, both of New Britain; and several nieces and nephews. Lou was predeceased by his beloved wife, Laura Lodovico, his son-in-law, Jerry Litteral and his sister, Ann Lodovico.
Funeral rites for Lou will be held Saturday June 22, 2013 at 10 a.m. from the Paul A. Shaker / Farmingdale Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Avenue, New Britain, Ct. Entombment with full military honors will be in St. Mary's Garden Mausoleum, St. Mary Cemetery, 1141 Stanley Street, New Britain, The American flag will be presented to Mr. Lodovico's son, Lou. Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A. Shaker / Farmingdale Funeral Home, Saturday from 9 a.m.-10 a.m. Directions to funeral home: I-84 East or West - Exit 37 (Fienemann Road) right off exit - one mile down on right. Marge....I can't tell you how sorry I am to hear that you lost your Dad. He was blessed with 90 years and got to know his grandchildren and great grandchildren.....which must have made him so happy. R.I.P Papa Lou. I love you and miss you already. I am sad that you are not here with us anymore but happy that you are reunited with gram again because I just know that you are happy again. Say hi to Gram and Jerry for me. Thank you for being the best Papa Lou any grandchild could ever ask for!
