GUTEKENST, Barbara J.
Barbara J. (Hockman) Gutekenst, 62, of Newington, died peacefully on Saturday, (October 29, 2011). Born and raised in Easton, PA, daughter of the late Elvin Hockman and Margaret (Milburn) Hockman, she was a Newington resident since 1971. Barbara was extremely patriotic and fostered a deep passion for the support of the military forces. She volunteered at local elementary schools where she shared American history and the importance of the American flag, dressed as Betsy Ross. A loving mother, she leaves her daughter Heidi G. Gutekenst of East Longmeadow, MA. She also leaves two sisters, Gladys Hockman Ennis of North Carolina and Jane Hockman McPherson of Texas, and several nieces and nephews.
