Barbara Reuben

Barbara (Lieberman) Reuben, 72 of Manchester, died peacefully early morning on Friday, February 26, 2016 with family by her side. Born in Brooklyn, NY, She was employed at the Manchester Board of Education for over 20 years. She loved playing mahjong and cryptogram puzzles. She loved her four legged furry companions, especially the last 14 years with her dog Pennie. She enjoyed watching Downton Abbey, MASH and old movies. Barbara thrived being surrounded by family for special occasions and holidays. She is survived by her two daughters - Stacey Poutre and her husband John of Manchester, Bonnie Stokosa and her partner Paul Wennerberg of Manchester, and her brother, Richard "Carl" Lieberman of CA. As well as the loves of her life, her three cherished grandchildren; Rachel Poutre and her fiancé Allenston Sheridan, Jr., Sarah Poutre and Jakob Stokosa, plus many dear friends. A funeral will be graveside on Monday, February 29, at 11:30 am with Rabbi Richard Plavin officiating at the Beth Sholom Memorial Park Cemetery, 80 Autumn Street, Manchester. Following interment, the family will receive friends at the home of Stacey and John Poutre. Shiva will continue at their home, Monday through Thursday from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm, with minyan service there each night at 7:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Beth Sholom B'nai Israel Synagogue in Manchester or to the Connecticut Humane Society. The family wishes to express much appreciation to the nurses and staff of Hartford Hospital and to Barbara's caregivers, Joy, Beth & Melody. May her memory be for a blessing and forever cherished.
