Elaine Swift Obituary

Elaine Belle (Farnham) Woods Swift, 78, of Tampa, FL, widow of Charles Swift, died Thursday, (August 15, 2002) at Brandon Regional Hospital. She was born Oct. 15, 1923 in Hartford, the daughter of the late Clarence and Henreitta (Griffin) Farnham, and lived in Stafford Springs before retiring in Florida. She was previous owner of Char-Laine Manor in Rockville. She leaves a son, Arthur Woods, Jr. and his wife, Mely of Florida; a daughter, Cheryl Dence and her husband, Russell of Bolton; two granddaughters, Lisa Swift of Florida and Nicole Dence of East Hartford; two grandsons, Jason Woods of Florida and Jonathan Dence of Bolton. She was predeceased by a daughter, Carol Elaine Desoe; a sister, Peggy Speight; and a brother, Edward "Sonny" Farnham. Funeral service will be Wednesday, 10 a.m. at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect St., Rockville with the Rev. Edward Campolongo, officiating. Burial will be in Ellington Center Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home TODAY, 7-9 p.m.
