1944 - 2016

Karen England, 71, of Manchester died March 24, 2016. She was the wife of Arthur R. England, who together celebrated 51 years of marriage. Born in Worcester, MA, September 17, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Lembie and Kenneth Chittick. She was employed part time by The Country Butcher and Dream Dinners but most enjoyed being a full time mother. Karen was an outstanding cook who loved to prepare special dishes for her friends and family. She also enjoyed many trips to Hawaii with her husband, vacationing in Florida and Block Island with her children and grandchildren, shopping, meeting friends for wine and spending time with loved ones. She will be remembered as a very caring person who laughed easily and loved her family. In addition to Art, her beloved husband, she is survived by her daughter Amy Vasington and husband Philip, daughter Carol Steinke and husband Tom, son Robert England and wife Kriste, daughter Colleen Byrd and husband Danny and son Jonathan England. She will be dearly missed by her loving grandchildren Aimee LaDuke, Elaina and Jack Vasington, Amanda Clark and Corey Steinke as well as great grandchildren Eli Clark and Riley LaDuke, sister Phyllis Davis, niece Janice Gould and husband Tony, niece Jennifer Bissell, beloved dog Eli, as well many other very dear friends and relatives. She is predeceased by her sisters Evelyn Davis, Elizabeth Lewis and Peggy Chittick and grandson Christopher Vasington Cox. The family welcomes guests who wish to extend their condolences from 5:00-7:00 pm on Wednesday, March 30th at The Lodge, Crandall Park, 124 Cider Mill Road, Tolland, CT. A private graveside service and burial will follow at a later date.
