WHITMYRE, Lorraine Elizabeth
Our beloved Lorraine Elizabeth Whitmyre of North Attleboro, MA, passed away on March 15, 2013, after a brief illness. Lorraine was born on Sept. 22, 1950 in Hartford, to Edward and Genevieve Milewski. She graduated from Wethersfield High School and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Connecticut. Lorraine's professional career included achievements in corporate, retail, and entrepreneurial businesses. She worked as a buyer for Sage Allen Department Stores, an executive assistant at Hamilton Standard and United Technologies' corporate office, and a retail merchandiser for two consumer products companies. Lorraine also founded a neighborhood catering business in Mansfield, MA. She was a highly talented interior decorator, gardener and landscaper, gourmet chef, and pianist. Lorraine also cherished her time at her beach house in Niantic. More importantly, Lorraine was a loving and caring daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. Her kindness and devotion to her family, her tireless passion to create a beautiful home, and her wonderful ability to "make a memory" for all who loved her will keep her in our hearts forever. Lorraine is survived by her beloved husband of 27 years, Richard David Whitmyre; sister Barbara Stocker and husband Stephan of Hartford, WI; sister Linda Huse and husband Glenn of Green Oaks, IL; sister Helene Gonet and husband William of Westfield, MA; stepdaughter Grace Ellertson of Phoenix, AZ; nieces Claudia Stocker and Caroline Huse; nephews Charles Huse, William Gonet, and Robert Gonet; two grandchildren Michael and Reece Ellertson; and West Highland Terrier Kelsey. She is predeceased by four adored West Highland Terriers, Reggie, Meghan, Robbie, and Reggie II.
A private memorial service and burial were held at the family's gravesite at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford, on March 20, 2013. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lorraine to her favorite charities are welcome: The Jimmy Fund, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
