CARPENTER, Philip
Philip "Phil" Carpenter, 49, former Manchester, CT resident died suddenly October 13, 2012, at his home in Jupiter, FL, after a short illness. Phil resided in Jupiter, FL for the past 17 years. Phil was born August 25, 1963 in Manchester, CT. He was a graduate of Manchester High School. Phil is survived by his loving parents, Jesse and Lois Carpenter of East Haven, CT and Singer Island, FL; his sister, Karen Carpenter of West Roxbury, MA; his sister, Kathryn Gliha of Sturbridge MA; his niece, Kim Gliha of Manchester, CT; his nephew, Shawn Gliha of Vernon, CT; sister in-law, Vivian Woo of West Roxbury MA, and brother in-law Dennis Gliha of Vernon, CT and many long time dear friends in the Connecticut area. He worked at Biomet 3i for 17 years in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Phil was family oriented and was an avid sports fan, in particular, the New York Yankees, the New York Giants and the former Hartford Whalers.
A memorial celebration of Phil's life will take place on Saturday, October 20 at 11 a.m. at the Taylor Modeen Funeral Home, 250 Center Street, Jupiter, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in Phil's memory to cancer research at Scripps Research Institute, 130 Scripps Way #4B2, Jupiter FL 33458; or online at https://www.scripps.edu/philanthropy/donate-now. A memorial service will be held locally at a later date.
