John E. Setzko

John E. Setzko, 76, of Wethersfield, beloved husband for 48 years of Frances (Czaja) Setzko, died peacefully at home on Saturday, (October 6, 2001). He was born June 26, 1925 in Hartford and was the son of the late Dennis and Mary (Bednarz) Setzko. John was a World War II, U.S. Navy, Airborne Division veteran. He was a graduate of the UCONN School of Engineering and worked 38 years for the Holo-Krome Manufacturing Co. retiring as Chief Metallurgist. Besides his wife he leaves a devoted daughter, Judith (Setzko) Workman of West Hartford; two devoted sons, John J. Setzko and his wife Debra (Ravagnani) Setzko of Wethersfield and Steven E. Setzko and his wife Dr. Marlene Murphy-Setzko of Farmington; five grandsons, Travis John Workman, Kyle and Evan Setzko and Jacob and Kevin Setzko; a brother, Joseph Setzko of West Hartford; and a sister, Helen (Setzko) Johnson of Wethersfield. He was predeceased by a brother, George Setzko. He will be remembered lovingly by his extended family and friends. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Burial with Full Military Honors will be in Calvary Cemetery, Middletown. Calling hours are Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
