Carroll Fred Cyr

Carroll Fred Cyr died on Wednesday, (July 2, 2003) in Noble Hospital, Westfield, MA following a lengthy illness. He was a communicant of Saint Mary's Church in Westfield. Fred was born in Caribou, ME in 1932 and lived his early years in Van Buren, ME. Following graduation from the University of Maine with a degree in civil engineering, he joined the construction firm of Savin Brother's Inc. of Newington. Until retirement, Fred remained with Savin Brother's working as project engineer on highway construction projects in New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts. Fred also served with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Fort Belvoir, VA. Fred was the son of Alphy F. and Winnie (Violette) Cyr and is survived by his wife of 46 years Louise (Mountain) Cyr; and four children, Mary E. and husband David Rodrigues of Houston, TX, Patrick Cyr and wife Karen of Farmington, ME, Cathleen Cyr, Peter Cyr and wife Michellene all of Westfield; seven grandchildren, Jessica and Heather Cyr, Matthew and Kathryn Rodrigues, Rebecca, Nicholas and Laura Cyr. He is also survived by two sisters, Marjorie Benzel of Scotts Bluff, NE and Barbara Weidinger of Bellevue, NE; and his Aunt Theresa Cyr of Boynton Beach, FL. A memorial mass will be Monday July 7, at 9:15 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, burial will be at the convenience of the family in Dexter, ME.
