Dear Dowler Family,
My father was in the U.S. Army with a Thomas Dowler, and asked if I would try to locate him. I would have to get back to my dad about his enlistment dates, but he graduated from high school in 1957 so he would have probably been in the Army from then to around 1961. Could your father/husband be the Thomas by father is trying to locate? My dad also mentioned that he thought the Thomas he knew lived in Cookville, TN. at one point in time. I saw no mention of that location in the obituary, however. My father has fond memories of the Thomas Dowler he was enlisted with, and has mentioned on more than one occasion wanting to get in contact with him. I wanted to grant my father's wish by helping him. I apologize if your loved one is not the Thomas Dowler we are looking for. In any case, you have my sympathy over the loss of your loved one.
