Perrin Cothran Obituary

Perrin Galbraith Cothran, 60, of Enfield, died on Sunday (November 16, 2003). Perrin was born in Hartford, January 12, 1943 the son of the late Col. Perrin Chiles and Ruth (Galbraith) Cothran and resided in Longmeadow, MA for 22 years, prior to moving to Enfield 5 years ago. He attended Hartford High School, Loomis Chaffee, Windsor, and Hobart College, Geneva, NY. class of 1965. Perrin was a Vice President of Investments at UBS formerly Kidder Peabody & Co. Inc., Springfield, MA, for 27 years. A Staff Sergeant, 11th Special Forces, US Army National Guard Reserves, he was a member of Sigma Phi Society, the Racquet and Tennis Club, New York City, the National Tennis Club, Newport, RI and was a nine year Heavy Hitter of the Pan Massachusetts Challenge Bike Ride to benefit the Jimmy Fund of Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Perrin is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sarah Boynton Cothran, his two children, Perrin Aylesworth Cothran of Newington, NH and Anne Galbraith Cothran of Charleston, SC. He was predeceased by his brother, 1st Lt. Robert C. Cothran, USMC. A Memorial Service for Perrin will be held on Friday November 21, at 2 p.m. in St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 335 Longmeadow St. Longmeadow, MA. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the PMC Fundraiser to benefit the Jimmy Fund of Dana Farber Cancer Inst. 77 Fourth Ave. Needam, MA 02494. BROWNE Memorial Funeral Chapels and Cremation Service, 43 Shaker Rd., Enfield, CT is assisting the Cothran Family with arrangements.
