Vera F. Beebe

Vera F. (Keduk) Beebe, 91, of Hartford, wife of the late Willard E. Beebe, passed away peacefully on Saturday, (December 15, 2001) at a local convalescent home. Born in Sarni, Russia, daughter of the late Filaret and Sophie (Krupenevich) Keduk, she had moved to the United States as a young girl. Vera grew up in Bloomfield and was a graduate of Bloomfield High School. Before graduation, she took a position as a legal secretary at a law firm in Hartford. In 1936 she moved to Hartford and continued her work at the same law firm, Rundbaken, Ryter, and Lehrer, until her retirement in 1980 after 55 years of service. In addition to her busy career, she loved music, dancing and spending time with her family. Vera will be remembered most as a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a member of South Congregational Church in Hartford. She leaves two sons, Robert W. Beebe and his wife, Carol of Broad Brook, and Gary E. Beebe and his wife, Patty of Hartford; a brother, George Keduk and his wife, Shirley of Hartford; eight grandchildren, Laurie Poulin, Krystyna Dziedzina, Jennifer Thompson, Cherie Chicano, Richard Beebe, William Beebe, Alan Beebe, and Hilary Slitt; six great grandchildren, Christopher, Leah, Krystena, Robert, Lyndsey, and Erik. Besides her husband of 65 years; she was also predeceased by two brothers, Leo and Walter Keduk; and a great grandson, Brian. Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, December 19, 10 a.m., in the chapel of the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor, with the Rev. Wendy Sue Earle officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Her family will receive friends, Tuesday, Dec. 18, 6-9 p.m., at the funeral home.
