TALLMAN, Lucius "Lou, "Huck" U.


Lucius "Lou, "Huck" U. Tallman, 85, a longtime resident of Glastonbury, and more recently of East Hampton, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2013. Born on March 29, 1927 in North Charlestown, NH, he was a son of the late Lucius S. and Grace (Gerber) Tallman. Lucius was a graduate of Glastonbury High School, he served in the United States Merchant Marines and is a proud Korean War veteran of the US Army. He was a lifetime member of the VFW post # 7659, Mason Columbia Lodge # 25, a past member of Goodale-Ramaker American Legion post # 56, and a member of the Glastonbury P.O.C.
Lucius was known for his caring and generous nature, he was outgoing and a friend to many. He was the Founder of Lou Tallman Landclearing that he started in the early 1950's. He loved to play cards. Lucius will be dearly missed by his children and their families; daughter Renée Tallman-Millar and her husband Bruce of East Hampton, and her children; Roger C. Savage of NH, Christine Colfer of CT, Michael Savage of NH, and Benjamin Savage of CT; son Lester R. Tallman and his wife Kathleen (Moore) of S. Acworth, NH., and their sons Lester and Jamie Tallman of NH, and Matthew Tallman of MA; son Lucius M. Tallman and his wife Sandra (Kinney) of New Milton, WV, and their sons Lucius, Thomas and David Tallman. Lucius also leaves to cherish his memory sister Catherine Schmidt, brother Walter Tallman and sister Ella Jewell; 11 great grandchildren along the Eastern seaboard from NH, CT, WV and NC, and many nieces and nephews throughout the United States. In addition to his parents, Lucius is predeceased by his brothers Ralph and Bill Tallman, and his sisters Geneva "Ginny" Bell and Marion McKee. Friends and family are invited to attend a period of visitation on Friday, March 1, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. at Glastonbury Funeral Home, 450 New London Tnpk, Glastonbury, CT. A Memorial Service is to be held on Saturday, March 2 at 10 a.m. in the Congregational Church of South Glastonbury, 949 Main Street, South Glastonbury, CT. I will also remember his "candid" way of putting things. Grampa never remembered his edit button.

I will always remember your dad for his candid way of looking at the world. At Cobalt we would ask him if he was alright and his comment would always be No, I'm half left. Will miss you Lou, thanks for making us smile everyday. Thoughts and prayers to Renee and all his family Donna Milardo
