Andrew W. Madrak Jr.

Andrew W. Madrak, Jr., 75, of Farmington, formerly of New Britain, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2014. He was the husband of Hedy (Koncewicz) Madrak for over 47 years. Born in New Britain, son of the late Andrew W. Madrak, Sr. and Geraldine (Irvin) Madrak, he was a lifelong New Britain resident and a member of Holy Cross Church, New Britain. He was most recently employed as an engineer for Corbin Russwin prior to his retirement. Andrew enjoyed working on cars and was a handyman. He is survived by his two sons, Andrew W. Madrak, III, of New Britain and Derek S. Madrak and his wife Liliana of New Hartford and three granddaughters, Ashly, Autumn and Amber Madrak. He also leaves his brother Richard Madrak and his wife Janice of Simsbury; nephews Richard Madrak and his wife Melyssa and their two children of Lebanon and Robert Madrak and his wife Elizabeth of Winsted, Stephen Kenna and his two children of RI; nieces Alison Pompei and her husband Jim and their two children of Bristol, Darlene Butkiewicz and her husband Skip and their three children of Southington, Kathy Heitmann and her husband Scott and their two children of CA, Diane Jones and her husband Brad and their daughter of Simsbury; his brothers-in-law Edwin Koncewicz of Maine and Frank Aparo of Southington along with other extended family and his trusted canine companion, Ginger. His funeral service will begin on Friday, May 23rd, at 9:00 a.m. at the Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, New Britain. He will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Burritt Hill.
